Consolidating Student Loans More Difficult

With lenders getting out of the student loan business, students are finding it harder to consolidate their student loan debt:
Lenders are not seeing a change in the rates students receive when they take out the loans, but most lenders are no longer consolidating the debt for students. Pickering only knew of one source that would consolidate loans for students.

"Lenders are not buying loans and making the consolidations anymore so students may have to deal with several different payments each month," Pickering said.
